Glucose-6-Phosphate Isomerase FgGPI, a β<sub>2</sub> Tubulin-Interacting Protein, Is Indispensable for Fungal Development and Deoxynivalenol Biosynthesis in <i>Fusarium graminearum</i>

Glucose-6-phosphate isomerase (GPI) is ubiquitous in most organisms, catalyzing the reversible isomerization of glucose-6-phosphate and fructose-6-phosphate. In this study, we investigated biological genetic functions FgGPI phytopathogen Fusarium graminearum. We found that hyphal growth, conidial germination, septa formation were significantly inhibited deletion mutant ∆FgGPI. was also positively associated with glucose metabolism, ATP biosynthesis, carbon source utilization. addition, pyruvate production, deoxynivalenol (DON) virulence reduced A coimmunoprecipitation assay demonstrated interacts Fgβ 2 . More importantly, showed carbendazim-resistant substitutions β tubulin could reduce interaction intensity between , thereby increasing expression accelerating DON biosynthesis strains.
